Concept Designs to Manufactured Piece

ArtCAM Express houses the tools and functionality to manufacture a whole range of 2D and 3D products, from shop signs to office name plaques.

Design Process:

You can either; create unique artwork totally within ArtCAM Express, design around an imported 2D image or bring in 3D artwork from other CAD software packages that you wish to machine. ArtCAM Express can import most image formats, including bmp, jpeg, tiff, ai, gif, dwg and dxf files.

2D Design & Vector Creation

ArtCAM’s drawing tools allow you to create intricate and detailed designs. You are also able to bring in and automatically vectorize 2D Bitmap images. ArtCAM Express supports most common vector formats including JPEG's, Tiffs, Gifs, and BMP's.

3D Design & Clipart library

With Express you can chose your design from the comprehensive 3D Clipart library included or swiftly import your own 3D images into the software. Once within the package they can then be rotated and mirrored to create your symmetrical designs.

Fast, Accurate and Easy Manufacturing Process

ArtCAM’s 2D and 3D machining enables you to go from design to manufactured parts quickly and easily. Using a database of tools and machining strategies you can calculate the toolpath for the machining of your piece and then output the information to over 200 different machines.

	2D Profiling with Bridging Whether you wish to cut around, inside or along your shape, Express allows you to cut your sheet of material from a set point or edge. “Bridges” can be applied if you want to keep the shape from falling away from the rest of the material after cutting. These bridges can then simply be cut or broken to free the shape from the rest of the material when required.
	2D Area Clearance or Pocket Machining To quickly machine “pockets” or areas in between designs Express has very efficient Area Clearance strategies.
	V-Bit Incised Carving Select 2D text or a drawing in ArtCAM and cut it efficiently using a V-Bit tool. ArtCAM automatically creates a variable depth cutting path.
	3D Machining Perfect for basic machining of 3D models or Clipart ArtCAM also comes with a “Machining Wizard” to help with the machining process.
	Inlays and the Insert Wizard Create inlayed letters or decorative artistic inlays with the Auto Inlay Wizard.
	Tool Database ArtCAM’s extensive and customisable CNC tool database keeps track of your cutting tools and the associated parameters.
	Toolpath Simulation See how each toolpath runs before you machine your design. ArtCAM Express ensures your machine will run smoothly thanks to our advanced and accurate machining simulation.
	Support for 100’s of CNC Machine Tools ArtCAM uses a customisable post processor that automatically translates the toolpath output to match your machine tools requirements.
